Madeline turned six this month. A couple weeks prior, when she was “five and a half”, we took some photos at and around my parents house. She wanted to include the boys in some of her photos. These are my favorites.
When we were in Michigan I got to meet my nephew Grayson. He’s 10 weeks old here and oh so precious. He’s alert, curious, and stares with such intensity. My husband laughingly said that Grayson was judging us. I think he’s trying to figure out these new faces in his life. Sadly the 2,500 miles between us will greatly limit how often I can snuggle him. This, by far, is the worst thing about living so far away from family. My boys don’t get to grow up with their cousins. We will just have to make every visit count.
I’ve know Betsy since we were both tiny children. I photographed her and D about 5 years ago. I was so thrilled when she called me up and asked me to take photos again this year while I’m in Michigan. We chose this location because of all the fond memories she has playing there with her family when she was little. It’s a special thing to be able to watch your child play and wander and explore in the same location you did at their age. Much love to you Betsy.
